EuroPsy is a European certification system for psychologists, established by the European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations (EFPA), aiming to set a unified standard of professional competence and ethical behavior across Europe. As of October 2021, Ukraine has joined this initiative, with the European Awarding Committee approving the composition of the National Awarding Committee (NAC) in Ukraine.
Objectives of EuroPsy:
• Establish Quality Standards: Ensure high-quality professional education and practice in psychology.
• Build Educational Networks: Develop a cohesive educational network for psychology across Europe.
• Enhance Service Quality and Accessibility: Improve the quality and accessibility of psychological services.
• Promote Mobility: Expand opportunities for educational and professional mobility of specialists within Europe.
The Ukrainian NAC is tasked with assessing the competencies of psychologists to ensure they meet European professional standards, awarding the Basic EuroPsy Certificate, and including certified professionals in the European Register of Psychologists. Applications for the Basic EuroPsy Certificate and inclusion in the EuroPsy register began in December 2021.
EuroPsy serves as a certification of the quality of professional education for psychologists, confirming that its holders have successfully completed comprehensive training programs, possess relevant practical experience, engage in continuous professional development, and adhere to ethical standards.
