Role
Vitalii Klymchuk served as a researcher in the project
In 2022–2023, Dr. Vitalii Klymchuk joined the SOHOME project (Social Housing and Homelessness), led by Dr. Céline Dujardin, as part of the research team under the FNR funded CORE programme in Luxembourg. The project aimed to develop a deeper understanding of individuals affected by housing difficulties or homelessness and to inform national policy and intervention strategies.
The project had two main objectives: first, to analyse and document the existing intervention landscape for homelessness in Luxembourg; and second, to conduct qualitative research capturing the perspectives of social workers and policymakers on the challenges, current practices, and future prospects of supporting people experiencing homelessness.
Dr. Klymchuk contributed to Work Package 4. His role involved analysis of the secondary qualitative data, co-authoring scientific articles on the intersection of mental health and homelessness, participating in knowledge dissemination events (including a national conference), and developing evidence-based policy recommendations to improve access to mental health and psychosocial support services for the homeless population.
