PSYCHO-SOCIAL SEEDS FOR PEACE: TRAUMA REHABILITATION AND CIVIC ACTIVISM IN UKRAINE
This project aimed to assist the reintegration and recovery of groups severely affected by the war in Ukraine by strengthening mental health and psycho-social recovery efforts across Ukraine, empowering civic activists, and supporting research and dialogue platforms to strengthen peacebuilding at both the community and national levels. The project beneficiaries were displaced communities, ex-military personnel, bereaved families and those whose relatives are missing.
The Project was funded by International Alert, and one of the implementation partner was Institute of Mental Health of Ukrainian Catholic University (Lviv).
The Mental Health and Trauma Therapy Center "SPACE OF HOPE" was created. We provided free-of-cost services to victims of military actions in Ukraine (servicemen, veterans, internally displaced persons, volunteers, doctors, etc.). The Center's specialists were highly skilled professional psychologists and psychotherapists with many years of training and experience. The Center operated on the basis of a multidisciplinary and community-based approach.
