Co-founder and President
Dr. Vitalii Klymchuk is an internationally recognised mental health expert, researcher, and practitioner with over two decades of experience in psychosocial support, policy development, and academic leadership. Currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Luxembourg, he has made significant contributions to global mental health systems, particularly in crisis-affected regions. His commitment to integrating evidence-based approaches and community-driven care has earned him the prestigious World-Changing Alumni Award from the University of Glasgow in 2024, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to improving mental health services in Ukraine and beyond.
Vitalii has served in numerous high-impact roles, including Mental Health Policy Expert and Service Development Coordinator for the Swiss-funded “Mental Health for Ukraine” project, where he supported the design and implementation of community-based care models and mental health centres. At GFA Consulting Group, he contributed to national-level reforms across several Ukrainian ministries—including Health, Veterans Affairs, Education, and Social Policy—focusing on strategic planning, service packages, and standards development.
As a consultant with international agencies such as UNICEF, WHO, UNDP, OSCE, and HIAS, he has designed and implemented scalable interventions for diverse populations, including children, caregivers, people with substance use disorders, and displaced communities. Notable projects include the EU-funded U-RISE and EU-PROMENS programmes, both aimed at capacity-building and cross-country exchange among mental health professionals across Europe. He also led psychological intervention studies under the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and played an important role in strengthening Ukraine’s public mental health infrastructure during wartime.
Beyond the project work, he has a strong academic foundation, having taught at the University of Luxembourg, Ukrainian Catholic University, and Zhytomyr State University. He has also served on various expert boards, including Mental Health Europe, SUPER Project and the Pan-European Mental Health Coalition.
